CHARACTERISTIC OF POLY LACTID ACID (PLA)/ COIR WITH ADDITION OF CHITOSAN VARIATIONS FOR REVIEWING PLASTIC MATERIALS

Poly lactic acid or poly lactide (PLA) is a natural polymer that biodegradable, thermoplastic and an aliphatic polyester made from renewable materials such as young kepok banana starch. with the chemical formula CH3CH(OH)COOH biodegradable obtained combination of monomers. Therefore, in this study PLA matrix was added fillers form Coir Chitosan. coconut fiber has been widely used by researchers for decades. Chitosan important promising biopolymer material tissue engineering because its anti-microbial activity, biodegradability, biocompatibility, non-toxicity. The characteristics resulting these three resulted 4 samples, namely fixed variable variations Sample 1 Coir/Chitosan ( 90:10 (%)) produces tensile strength value 80 MPa. 2 (80:20 yielded 55 Samples 3 (70:80 48 (60:40 produced 30 FTIR test on sample new compound found PLA/Coir/Chitosan composite, N=C=O which isocyanate group at peak 2279.86 cm-1 group. While SEM shows physical structure composition addition (90:10%) best morphology.
